Islandica - Songs & Dances from Iceland

This album draws on a collection of folk music from 1906, called “Icelandic Folk Song”, compiled from written sources and people’s recollections over a period of 25 years by Reverend Bjarni Thornsteinsson. The group “Islandica” kept close to tradition in some pieces, but in others they have allowed themselves more creative freedom and a more contemporary approach.
