Afrika Mamas return with their fifth release Ilanga (The Sun). A stunning album of a cappella music. Their take on John Lennon's Imagine, rearranged with Zulu vocal accompaniment, is something to behold. The album also includes songs written with the sons of the late Joseph Shabalala – the founder of Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It's the 3th in a row album from one of the best female isicathamiya singing groups in South Africa. After the first two releases, the started to work together with Ladysmith Black Mambazo and the result of this cooperation is a brand new album with some of the finest vocal music you can get out of this part of the world. Afrika Mamas 3th release after Iphupho (dream) and the first album on ARC titled just Afrika Mamas is worth listening to from the first to the last song. Includes John Lennon's rendition of Imagine.
